Yes, I have found it is very helpful and comfortable. Even if you do not have this type of grip available, any other type of soft grip should work just as well. The broader handle seems to help the hand.

is the first chain ever used or do u always skip the 1st chain on row 1???

  10. tjw1963 Says:

    You can continue …
You can continue around the whole afghan from the last row. You will evenly make your stitches along the edges, making sure you have the same amount of stitches on each edge. The shell will work great for many different pattern stitches.

I crocheted the baby afghan using your example of the shell 5 dc. I am at the end and would like to have the scalloped shells around the whole afghan. At the end it is scalloped, but ave the other 3 side that aren’t. Can you guide me through on how to crochet the other 3 side from where I finished. I know on the slanted shell version you had an example, but wasn’t sure that would be good for the plain 5 dc.

If you find that it is to heavy, you can use a larger crochet hook, which will give it a lighter feel.

I have been crocheting since I was 10 years old, on & off. I learned by looking at my mom crocheting dollies. Now, i notice that there are many other new stitches in crocheting. Crocheting & knitting is just like technology new development & we are still learning….I really enjoy all your video. They are also very inspiring. Peace & love, Rosie

  22. tjw1963 Says:

You can try a chain …
You can try a chain of 127. Every person is going to interpret where to put stitches differently. It is not necessary to rip out the foundation if you wind up with a few extra chains. You can cut the extra chain at the beginning, knot it and sew it in.
