Victoria Beckham, Fashion Designer
Oh yes, it’s Posh! Victoria Beckham sat down with Harriet Mays Powell to talk about her new line — when she says that seeing her designs on a rack next to YSL is “more exciting than having a huge album,” we totally understand. She also introduces us to the “Sucky, Sucky” dress and claims to do the dishes in a gold minidress. See? Posh is fun! VIDEO by Jonah Green

It is very Ronald …
It is very Ronald Mouret-ish you could swear he had designed those dresses in their entirety from start to finish! Uncanny coincidence or what?

agmahindo… Coca …
agmahindo… Coca Chanel didn’t need to draw she had genuine tailoring skills and could make a garment prototype which is even better. She bypassed the whole drawing process making the whole design stage even quicker and more efficient.
She designed with her hard earned, start at the bottom and learn skills with a scissors, needle and thread.
I’m afraid you wont see Victoria Beckham slaving and learning a trade in a tailors shop like dear old Coco.

Hummm…How many …
Hummm…How many designers cannot draw?
Well, I’m going to say just one name: Coco Chanel !!!!

Ironiclove! Spot on! That’s all it is endorsement or the selling of products through the work or greater efforts of other people.

Is it really any different to all the other celebrity endorsed cosmetics, perfumes, and clothing???

Just look up on …
Just look up on Youtube collections of Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, a well-known Spanish fashion designer (the tackiest and tawdriest being upon the face of the Earth in my opinion), and Victoria Beckham be the classiest fashion designer ever.
Haha.

You’re actually …
You’re actually being really rude. If you don’t like her, don’t buy her clothes or just ignore her; but I think she really has good taste and she’s experienced in that world. She could share a little bit with everybody.

“Natural talent …
“Natural talent can’t be intellectualized” not in her case anyhow cos she doesn’t have any!
She has admitted she cannot draw! How many designers cannot draw? What does she actually do then? Tells the lackey actually doing the real thinking, work and drawing what length, fit and colour her imaginary dress i.e. ‘design’ should be.
That’s within the capacity of most 3-10 yr olds. She’ll be designing buckets next! I’ve just visualised one myself it is blue hollow and has an handle on top!

You all saying that …
You all saying that Vic copied other designers clothes is just stupid. Artists just influence each other!
And creativity can NOT be restricted to somebody with a degree in Arts or whatever. What you need is natural TALENT; not a degree. I’m against intellectualising everything in society. It seems nobody can do nothing in this society unless you got a degree.
Natural Talent and good taste can’t be intellectualised.

What a shallow, …
What a shallow, stupid old she is. her and her ugly clothes. Her husband must be haunted by his terrible choice of a spouse.

it’s too bad that you actually care about my spelling. This isn’t a topic of spelling, it’s a fashion discussion. ( try the geek squad)

The first comment …
The first comment wasnt intended for you, so excuse me on that one. I was only asking a question. But on the topic – A lot of garments Versace makes resemble a few pieces in D&G shows. hat’s just naming one. There will always be similarities among designers, and their designs. But only similarities. Maybe she was inspired by D&G?
And I believe Alexander McQueen is on another level enitrely and I don’t see a slight resemblance in anything.
August 29th, 2009 at 12:26 pm
Also, i think …
Also, i think you’ve trying to question my level of fashion sense, i might be wrong, but i think it’s stupid.
August 29th, 2009 at 12:26 pm
Misspelling …
Misspelling Alexander for Alexandra was a mistake, and not due to ignorance. I wouldn’t have made such comment, if most of the clothes she claimed she designed weren’t ripoffs .I do have the credibility to make such judgement, bcos i am a big fan of Alexander McQueen,D&G, and have seen that most of Victoria’s designs does have alot of resemblance to some of their previous designs, and has had a dress that looks exactly like one of Rouland Mournet ’s designs.

BEWARE! BEWARE! …
BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! This board has been hijacked by the shallow and pretentious brigade!
Please feel pity, they live in a world of famine yet condone and are stupid enough to pay over £1,000+ for a dress!
Please forgive their insane ramblings about fashion/fashion design talking like its only done right by the ‘elite’ few!
SHALL I TELL THEM DRESSES HAVE BEEN OUT FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS OR SHALL YOU!
August 29th, 2009 at 12:26 pm
Did you just call …
Did you just call Alexander McQueen Alexandra? Do you have the ‘credibility’ to make that judgement? I’m not trying being rude – it could have been a mistake, but it seems a little ignorant.

These pieces are …
These pieces are obviously meant for people who understand fashion. The collection is timeless, lovely and unique. The people who hate either have a distaste for Victoria and/or bad taste in fashion, simply put.
August 29th, 2009 at 12:26 pm
I think she has a …
I think she has a distinctive sense of style, seperate from other designers. I can tell u what company a purse or dress is from just from it’s style. Posh’s style is, however, a combination of classy with a twist. Elegant and fabulous.
