Why do people not like when white women wear indian clothing?

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

Indian women where american clothing? My boyfriend is Indian and I am white, i always wear indian clothings and i love it, but many people give me stares and make comments.

They are narrow-minded idiots who can’t appreciate the fact that you are showing respect and appreciation for your boyfriend’s culture.

I need advice from someone who buys wholesale clothing & excessories for women in Melbourne.?

Friday, November 20th, 2009

I am starting a shop that will sell women’s clothing and jewellery. I’m taking a trip to Melborne early November, and i’m searching for suppliers.

Surry Hills in Sydney is a good location to buy wholesale, can anyone tell me if there is a similar area in Melbourne that has wearhouses in the same area? Or any designers or wholesalers interested in contacting me?

I’m looking for something different, but not in the high end fashion price range, mid range.

I am also interested in buying wholesale handmade unique jewellery, mid to high price range.

Thanks!

Why do clothing companies insist women are all proportionally the same?

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

I spend most of my time and money in the men’s department because I can’t find slacks to fit my waist and height…and have pockets that don’t function. Women’s clothes don’t fit properly, are made poorly and are overpriced. Women’s shoes will often break an ankle, fall apart after one use and/or are disfunctional in the real world. Anyone have the same experience?

The "one size fits all" trend cuts costs for manufacturers and makes it your problem to fit into your clothes, not theirs to fit you. As for quality, men’s clothes are expected to be worn until they fall apart, but women are supposed to buy new stuff long before their old gear is anywhere near worn out. Hence the poorer materials – keep ‘em spending.

Can I find larger or plus size clothing for women in Beijing? If so, where?

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

I am going to Beijing for six months. I really don’t want to bring a lot of clothing, as it is hard to know what I will use and what I won’t. I have read that you can find a lot of clothing in Beijing, but I wonder if I can find larger size clothing for women–maybe size 14 or 16 pants and larger shirts-or perhaps if people have clothing made at a tailor shop.

Of course you can. The sizes are quite flexible. If it’s really too difficult to get your right size, a tailor shop is usually available in the mall.

Are there companies that make swimwear clothing for women in cultures that tend to be completely covered?

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

We were at a waterpark yesterday and there were a few women that were completely covered (except for their faces). The went in the water and got completely wet but the clothes they were wearing didn’t look any different than what they normally wear.

Yes, many. Here’s one:

What are some good stores or brands for clothing for women in their early 30’s?

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

I recently gave birth to my second child and now I get what women mean when they talk about "baby weight". My body is different and my old clothes just don’t fit quite right. I feel like I’m outgrowing my old favorite stores and brands- any suggestions or advice? I want to look good, be stylish while being age appropriate.

Where I can donate clothing to women in need – rather than to a charity resale – in Melbourne Vic Australia?

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Like many people I have some never worn clothes (some still with tags!) that I would like to donate to a domestic violence shelter or other charity that would give the clothes to women who need them, rather than just selling them. Does anyone know of any appropriate charities in Melbourne – and how I can contact them?
I have discovered that Hanover Homeless Shelter in Southbank accepts clothes donations. Thanks to the non-spammers who answered.

try this site it might be of some use for a phone number or an address
Best of luck

Can someone please give me the name of some good boutiques at Patiala and Chandigarh for women clothing?

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

I am particularly looking for punjabi suits (salwar kameez), No churidaar or Bollywood fashion. I want something simple but elegant in traditional punjabi suits. Embriodery with thread or some sequins but not huge stones. I will be visiting punjab in winter and would like to know where to shop for some good trendy but traditional punjabi suits in elegant colors. I am not a fan of bold colors or big embriodery. I like boutique style because they are unique.

Thanks very much.

patiala is especially famous for what you are looking for. but you’ll have to first buy the material and then get it stitched from a boutique.

patiala – there is a boutique opposite gopal sweets.

chandigarh- neelu sandhu sector 10
golu sector 34
parveen
sonia sector 11 (the best patiala salwars)
