The Secrets To Having A Well Trained Dog

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

It can be an advantage to personally take control and work with your dog one-to-one on improving their obedience. It is often considered that the owner is usually the best person to be taking an active role in training their dog. This is because it will help build your relationship with your dog and make it clear to them who is the master. This could be considered to be an advantage over having the dog trained by another handler.

Secrets To Dog Training by Dan Stevens is a high quality self-help dog training course available to buy online. It’s recommended you read an independent review of secrets to dog training before buying.

Why Do These Dogs Dig?

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

There are a couple of mindsets when people talk of their dog digging up their yards. One thought is that it is in a dog’s instinct to dig and you really can’t stop it. The other side of thinking is that this is my yard, my flowers and I don’t care if it is in a dog’s instinct, he’s not going to dig up my yard. I am in the middle of these two extreme views. I think it is in their instincts but I will control where they dig. I built a sandbox and filled it with dirt and some grass and now he has a place he can dig all he wants.

I think I need a change in scenery!

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

I was recently getting bored with my tank. I was even thinking about checking out aquariums for sale. Then a thought came to me. I’ll just change my tank around. I took out some of the gravel and added black, Then I put a darker light in it. I bought black pieces of rock, and an old busted down black pirate ship. Just to add to the darker scene. Then I added a couple plants to give more shadowed areas in the tank. Wow, what a difference! Instead of buying a new tank, consider trying to change the scene in your tank. Get a tank.

Rabbit Feed – Are You Taking Care of Your Rabbit?

Monday, March 1st, 2010

An incorrect diet can be the underlying cause to many health problems. Rabbits are strict herbivores that eat a variety of plants in the wild. Although they prefer grass and leaves, they can digest more fibrous foods and are able to survive on sparse vegetation. They do NOT need a high calorie diet, as their digestive system has evolved to use bacterial fermentation to break down fiber and form nutrients. The best foods for rabbits are grass and wild plants as they are palatable, low in calories, high in fiber and wear the teeth down. Leafy green vegetables are very good, such as spinach, cabbage, kale and carrot tops.

Useful tips for a rabbit hutch

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

If you have made rabbit hutches with a bottom pan that can be removed for easy cleaning then you will not have to stick your head inside the hutch to clean it. It is a good idea to line a wooden or wire floor with vinyl to prevent damage to the rabbit’s hocks and the pan must be cleaned often to avoid illnesses. Your rabbit can now be healthy and clean all the time.

The perfect hutch made of wood and wire will ensure that your rabbit stays warm in winter, provided you have closed it from 3 sides with wood and fitted wire on half the length on one side of the hutch’s length. Such a hutch will also keep the rabbit cool during summers especially if you keep the hutch under a tree or on your porch. By reading your rabbit’s needs in advance and building or buying an appropriate rabbit hutch, you will ensure that your bunny enjoys its stay on your property and plays happily with you and your loved ones for many years to come.
