Anyone know where I can find Angels maternity clothing?

Monday, December 14th, 2009

A friend’s wife is pregnant and she’s a hardcore Angels fan, and he cant seem to find anything online (ive looked too). Anyone know of anyplace you can find Angels gear for pregnasaurs?

Yeesh. Almost all clothing with MLB brands has to be licensed from official MLB licensees. Most of that stuff is available at the MLB shop online, although there may be some in boutique maternity shops.
(But baseball jerseys are so floppy big anyway, I’d think one size bigger would get her everything she needed!)

There is a place in KY that sells discount maternity clothing?

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

I guess it sells maternity clothes like places from Old Navy and stuff. It’s kind of like a warehouse and all the clothes are discounted. I think it’s in Northern KY, up near OH. I can’t seem to find it on line, anyone heard of it?

No, actually I haven’t heard of it. I know we have a Gap Outlet in Florence, KY, that also has old navy and banana republic discount clothes, so maybe thats it. But if you find out for sure i’d love to know! I live about 35 minutes from there and i’m going to be needing clothes soon, but I don’t want to spend a fortune. Good Luck

Any ideas on how to keep wearing pre maternity clothing throughout pregnancy?

Monday, November 30th, 2009

I am 4 months pregnant and cannot afford to buy any maternity clothing-my husband just doesn’t see a need for it and he controls all the money. Does anyone know of a way if there is one I can alter my existing pants? I have a string tied around the button and the button hole to keep them on but this is so painful. Any ideas?

No offense, but your husband sounds like an idiot.
You need a good bra. You can get a nursing one and wear it now, but you NEED a good bra. And if you’re nursing, you’ll need a bunch of good bras because they’ll be sweaty and milky and a total mess a lot of the early time.

You will also need at least a few maternity shirts and a few pairs of pants. There is NO WAY I could have made it throughout my pregnancies in my non-maternity clothes.

You could try a Bella Band. It’s a variation on the rubberband through the buttonhole trick, but a lot more comfy and way better looking. (It’s basically a giant elastic waistband that holds up your unbuttoned pants.)

You can also go on FreeCycle for your city and see if anyone’s giving away maternity clothes. Here in St. Paul, MN, I see stuff like that posted every day. Or Goodwill always has a few things…

Would maternity clothing be considered womenswear?

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

I’m working on a research project about fashion and I was wondering whether Maternity is a subdivision of Womenswear or a completely different category?

It sure isn’t menswear :-)

How much money, on average, does a pregnant woman spend on maternity clothing?

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

And what are some inexpensive alternatives?
I’m 5′6, 115lbs.

i’m 21 weeks and i’ve spent about 300-400 dollars so far, and that was buying mix and match peices and being frugal!

i went to motherhood (store name) and found some great buys. also, i bought a bunch of these great mossimo t-shirts from Target in XL. they are great b/c they’re in different colors and they are stretchy so i”m not wearing a tent, but there’s room to grow some more, and they are longer than most t-shirts, so my tummy doesn’t stick out the bottom.
also, check out old navy. they have GREAT maternity clothes and aren’t too expensive. plus, alot of it is the same stuff in regualr clothes, jsut maternity!

congrats!

EDIT:
also, to help you out, since i didn’t know this stuff:
most pants have adjusters in the waistband, so you can make them tighter now and then loosen then when you get really big.
also, buy shirts and pants about the same size you are now in regular clothes or one size up if they don’t seem to have enough room to grow into. i usually wear a M-L and i bought mostly L-XL depending on the fit. my sister was there to keep reminding me that i will get ALOT bigger, so needed to get stuff that was a little bigger than what i was trying on:) she was right, too;)
