Any advice for opening a baby/kids clothing boutique?

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

I am wanting to know where to find grants & how to go about opening your own store.
I know I have a great idea just doing it with bad credit is the problem. How can you get loans? I have heard the government gives grants to people who want to own their own business. HELP!

Check out some space for the store. Look at the demographics of the area online at the city’s site. You’ll want the best demographics you can get. This may also tell you the median income of the families and ages of the kids.

Write a business plan to take with you when you get your bank loan. And check out manufactures to keep you supplied.

Your state should have some different programs for starting up a business in the area. Checkout your states’ .gov home page and the business section. The programs available depend on where you are located.

Sending clothing to kids in third world countries?

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

I’d really like to help with this. I could collect gobs of used clothing from my church and school.
Anybody know of any good organizations to donate to or some good ways to get started?
Kimberly: I’m sure you’re right. There are many people suffering in our country. But I have been to seven different foreign countries and I can tell you that none of it is nearly as bad as what goes on in third world countries. People born in america have hope for a future because there is money all around them. People born in foreign countries often have nothing.

It would probably be more cost effective to donate to the 700 Club and make a note that you want it to be designated to go to Operation Blessing and specify if you want it to go for clothing for third world countries. They provide food, clothing, medicine and medical care, glases, wells, etc. to people in need all around the world. God bless!!

What is a fair price for used kids clothing?

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

I’ve sold some of my kids stuff to a local Once Upon a Child and have been paid about 15% of full retail. Over 5 years ago I did the same on Ebay but never figured out the profit margin – Ebay is not worth it without tags attached today. Garage sales seem like such a hassle. Should I just be satisfied with 15%?

Jeans should be for or five dollars at the max and shirts should be $4.00

I have a kids clothing store and am desperately trying to get this brand in my store.

Dear Sir,

Have a good day. Now a days, garments exports from Bangladesh have made inroads into the international market for their durability, quality and beauty. One of the reasons for the economical pricing of Bangladesh’s ready made garments and apparels is the availability of highly skilled, cheap labor in the country. The superiority of Bangladesh’s Garment Industry has been acknowledged to the world garments market.

We are a known company that is specialized in providing enchanting range of apparels, available in ethnic as well as contemporary designs. Offering a perfect blend of style and elegance, our range is fabricated from fine quality fabrics like cotton, woven & woolen.

The range that we are supplying offers a wide variety to the clients in terms of color. The range is carefully stitched, printed & skillfully embroidered to ensure it satisfactorily caters to the requirements of the fashion industry which is one of the booming buying-houses.

We are diligently able to export garments apparels all over the world. Any order from buyer or buying agent, is welcome by us and we remain active till our order goes completed in a particular time. And we make each of deals fulfilled in between our mutual understanding.
Another noticeable aspect of our business is stock-lots on any kind of fashionable ready-made garments, such as

*MEN
*WOMEN
*CHILDREN

Therefore, we are keenly optimistic to have a business deal with you on the objects mentioned above.

Thanking You,

I am trying to compile a list of good places to shop online for cutesy kids’ clothing.?

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

I am an aunt, not a mom, so I don’t mind shopping at places that aren’t super bargains because they are only occasional splurge purchases, not everyday expenses for me:) That said, I realize that kids grow out of things fast, so I don’t want to shop at stupidly expensive designer places!

I am looking for online shops only because I don’t live in the same area as my niece and nephew. Looking for infant, toddler, and/or preschooler sizes. (My nephew is 8 mos and my niece is almost 5 years old.)

Serious emphasis on cutesy required:)

Here are the places I shop now (in order of preference so you get an idea of what I am looking for):
Gymboree (my current fave… more like this would be great!)
Children’s Place
Gap
Amazon
eBay
Old Navy

Thanks for your help!
Also, links to the places would be great. Thanks!!!

Do most kids wear the clothing size for their age?

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

It seems like my kids always move to the next size up a month (or more) early, is this normal? Like at 2 months they move from 0-3 month clothes to 3-6 months. And at 5 months they are wearing 6-9 month clothes. Or at 22 months they are already fitting into their 2T/24 month clothes. Does everyone elses kids do this, or are my kids just big?

Oh yes!! I think this is normal for just about everyones kids. I’m sure there are excepts but most kids will wear a size bigger or even smaller then what their age is. My son is 4 months and wears 6 to 9 month clothes. However not in all clothes. He has a pair of Tommy jeans that are 3 to 6 months and they are a little big for him. Stuff I buy at Wal-mart tends to fit him sooner too. Sometimes its just how each company makes their clothes. I never go by age for size. Most tags will give weight/height measurements and these tend to be more accurate in judging what size to get.

Can someone tell me some good sites that have kids clothing, and takes paypal?

Gap Kids, Children’s Place, and any other huge department store should let you order from paypal.
