I am new to the baby girl thing and am starting to shop for girl stuff. I am trying to be more practical with my daughter then my son as I WAY over did it with him. I am not really a Kmart kind of girl, but I am not a snob either. I am just looking for really cute, well made clothing. What are some of your favorites?

I am sort of a designer snob, but still buy baby clothes at Target. Why spend soo much when they will simply grow out of them at such a quick pace? But lately, I have bought some of my clothes at Target, too. They have cute stuff in general.

I am interested in opening a baby clothing store, but not sure exactly how to go about it? also is there anyone who has opened one that can tell my what their start up costs where so i have an idea….any info would be great

I don’t know much about baby clothing but from what I see it looks like its a great niche to get into, try growing your sales by selling on ebay.
I do adult clothing on ebay best tip I can give you is to include lots of pictures in your listings. use mannequins and dress forms to get even better pictures and to display clothing throughout your store, I get mine from Amazon.com or MannequinHub.com. their email is Sales@MannequinHub.com.

I used to have a my buddy doll, but they make kid sisters. they’re huge! my buddy (I named him andrew) was my size.

Try Zazzle.com, too. They have a line of organic baby clothing. You can easily (and for free) design things for this and many other lines and post them for sale and make a commission off of each item you sell. You even get to choose your own commission amount. My son will be 4 months old next week. He has been wearing clothes that were made for 6-9 month old babies since his 3month birthday. His doctor says he is a LITTLE bit bigger than normal babies, but this seems a bit extreme to me.

I’ve never understood baby sized. It seems that most babies are about 3-6 months ahead. Also some sleepers have crazy big or crazy small feet for the size of the body. Then there are the skinny sleepers, I admit my first was chunky, but there are no babies 3 feet long and only 5 inches wide!

I heard that the fabric softener actually damages the baby clothing.. Is it true?

some fabric softeners have petrolatum or mineral oil in them which can coat a person’s skin, therefore, the pores can’t expell toxins from the body. Eventually, overtime, this can cause cancer and other diseases. I would suggest not using any body lotions, or other products containing these ingredients. You can do a search on the dangers of mineral oil on www.ask.com it is really an eye-opener!!!! SCARY stuff.

Seventh Generation is a brand that has liquid laundry detergent that is safe for the skin. It is more spendy, but worth it if it could help deter effects of harmful checmicals.
