Best gift for babyshower and best baby clothing brand?

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

So my cousin is having a baby girl and.. my cousin is like a

sister/ mother for me. I really really want to give her good presents

the price range i’m looking for is 100-150. and I’m just wondering

about the good brand clothing for babies..

thank you!

I had my baby shower a few weeks ago and the best prezzie I got was a giftcard from my mother in law.
She said that no matter how much I get before the baby comes, I will always need something a few weeks after, and having that gift card will turn out to be a handy few dollars!!
It might sound a bit crappy, but if you write something in a card that says why you got it for her, it might just turn out to be something great for her and baby!! She can even buy something for herself after the baby comes!!
Another Idea is to take her out the day before the shower and pamper her, take her to get her hair done and nails, a shoulder and foot massage.
My friends did that for me and I felt great the next day for the baby shower!!

When drying baby clothing, can I use the fabric softener sheets?

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

I know that I can only use a certain type of detergent (called Dreft) when washing the clothing. So I was wondering if I had to use a certain type of fabric softener sheets too.
By fabric softener sheets I mean the ones that you throw in with the laundry when you dry your clothing.

Any infant style laundry soap should be sufficient…..I would not use any fabric softener what so ever.

Try eBay. There’s more than used stuff. There are also new stuff in eBay stores. Check it out.

Any other sites to buy used baby clothing?

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

I have checked ebay out. They didnt have what I was looking for there.
I also have a www.cafemom.com profile, which they have groups that sell used clothing. I have bought some stuff from that site. But I am still searching for used clothing for my daughter and son.
Their sizes are 12-18months winter clothes (girls)
Also looking for 12-18months summer dresses and skirts (girls)

I am also looking for 2t-3t boys winter clothing.

If anyone knows any other nicely used baby clothes buying sites, please let me know.
Or if anyone has any, I will buy for a decent amount, and pay shipping.
Not looking for freebies.

I have found the best site. It’s freecycle.org and everything on there is free! It’s through yahoo and you just have to sign up its free. Put in your state and county and you will see all the postings.

I have boxes of baby girl clothing I would like to donate to an organization in the Bronx. Any ideas?

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

I am having a baby boy, and I have lots of gently used baby girl clothing, sizes from 3 months all the way to 4T. I’ve tried searching on the internet, but no one wants used clothing, only new.

Go to google maps and search businesses. Look up "Shelters" based on your address.

Call in advance to be sure they are taking donations, wash the clothing and put it in a bag and drop it off.

So many women leaving violent relationships- leave their home with nothing, so it’s great to give their children and the women themselves the essentials.

What is the best way to get baby food off of baby’s clothing?

Monday, October 19th, 2009

We started feeding our 3.5 month son baby food for the first time, and notice that, even with a bib on, our son manages to get food every where. My wife has tried to clean it in the washer, but it doesn’t seem to get it out. Can anyone give us any advise on what to use to get rid of the stains before we loose all of his clothing to stains? Or can anyone give us any ideas how to feed him without getting food all over his clothes?

When our 9 month old gets food on her bibs and clothes then we take it right off and rinse it out in cold water. this usually gets the food out before it has time to actually set in as a stain.

I would highly recommend trying it good luck!

Baby clothing is cute, but what about comfortable?

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

I see alot of cute clothing, but they have buttons, and all those zippers and things. These outifts are so cute but do babies feel comfortable in them?

I pretty much had two different types of clothing for my kids–the cute kind that they wore for the short time we were out in public or at family gatherings, and the other kind for at home stuff. I had the zippered one-piece pj type of clothes for the majority of the at home clothes. They were soft and probably comfortable. (Plus easy for me to change them.) The other set was the cutesy stuff that hung up in the closet and was worn when I wanted the "awwww" response! (Just be sure to have a spit up rag on hand when wearing those outfits!)
