baby due in dec and need to know what kind of clothing we shoud buy?
it will be winter so what kind of baby clothes, blankets and sweter we neeed to buy for the baby. anything special for the winter baby.
thanks in advance.
Definitely a Snow suit. Plenty of onesies. booties, Always, dress a newborn in layers that way if the temperature changes you can put on or take off layers to keep them comfortable. Safest bet if you are hot or cold your baby usually is too.
Good Luck and Bless U and your family!

Make sure you get the baby a snow suit.I know it won’t be playing in the snow. But it will cover his/her body.

i would just buy two cloths both white, if i do not know the sex of the babay, and buy one blanket. besides that waite until the little guy or girl comes to world it will be so cool to go shopping with your child. by the way just to let you know in some cultures women or men don’t buy their baby clothes when the mother is pregenet they buy them afterwords. its considered bad luck…don’t ask just know.

if you live in a cold climate stick with blanket sleepers, they are very easy to care for and they are so soft and cuddly!

just think about the weather. what do you need for a cold weather day. blankets, booties, beanies, sleeper p.j. the ones with the feet, gloves or mittens. sweat pants, sweat shirts. allways keep extra clothing in your trunk. in a backpack. keep a extra blanket. i am a grandma , and this is what i tell my kids for their children

I wouldn’t worry about buying anything. We had a baby shower and came away with a bunch of cloths. I’d actually wait, if you have a baby shower, and see what you need after that, if anything.

For at least the first six weeks (probably longer but I can’t remember exactly) the baby will sleep swaddled in blankets (ask your doctor or the nurses at the hospital to show you how to do this) – so you won’t need thick, heavy pajamas.
Until the baby’s umbilical cord falls off (~ 10 days) the little one won’t wear any "onsies", so make sure you have a bunch of t-shirts.
Most places you take the baby will be heated, so to keep him/her warm in the car, and in-between locations, you really just need warm blankets that you can wrap around or use to cover him/her in the carseat.
The most important thing is hats. Even indoors, the doctors told me to use hats for the first several weeks. Just little, light cotton ones are best.
Good luck!

long footed fleece sleepers and hats preferably with ear flaps are a must. Long pants are great for layering. Fleece is a good material for warmth. You’ll also want the basics, lots of onezies and socks and some warm booties. Mittens are good for the early months for out doors. You’ll need to dress baby in layers so that he/she stays warm outside but can be stripped down a bit inside so they don’t over heat.
look for a hooded sluggly that covers hands and feet that you can put on over clothes.
I moved to Alaska in december with a 3 month old. I have also had a baby in January.

My son was born on January 18th of this year. We bought him all kinds of cute little sweat suits and warm clothes in 0-3 months….when we got him home we had to go shopping because everything swallowed him. I would probably get warm clothes in different sizes..keep the receipts..then take back any clothes that are too small! Congratulations!

You will really want to get a carseat cover for when you go outside in the cold. It covers the baby carseat and the baby up so no cold air can get in.
Some warm blankies
Hats
Sweaters
Once you have him or her you will learn what they need.

Last December I had my little boy. I live in SoCal. I found blanket sleepers and "sleep and plays" Sleepers come in cotton and fleece. Get a few of each. Some warm hats, a thick coverall (like a jacket, but cheaper and warmer) I received so many blankets, but I didn’t use the receiving blankets, I liked fleece blankets the best. I know you are going to get a boatload of unsolicited advice, but this is what I wish someone would have told me: Keep room temperature below 75, and use a humidifier. I was so worried my baby wouldn’t be warm enough that I cranked the heater up, and it dried my baby’s skin. Also he had some wheezing when I didn’t have the humidifier on. Remember baby only needs one more layer of clothing than what you are wearing. Most babies can regulate temperature at birth, but if not, then when they are about 8 pounds. Good luck.

Definitely a swaddling blanket. Newborns like to be swaddled for the first 6 weeks and besides that your not supposed to put heavy or loose blankets in with a newborn. I’d buy some nice warm sleepers to put him/her after the 6 weeks

I will have to agree with Havanah_A. Just stick with blanket sleepers. That’s what I did with my one who was born in winter.
You can also buy socks, hats, mittens. If you really are going to stay out then youcan buy snow suits but if you will just move your child from carseat to stroller and then to a heated area then you can also buy those warm cudly bags to cover them up completely. Sweaters or shits, which have sleeves that can be folded to cover baby’s palms are very good specially while in the house. Even thought the house is heated, they sometime get cold. Its a good idea to have them.
